Super Jen to the Rescue

While on the subject of Marathon training a lovely story of why it is so amazing to be part of this wonderful club came to my attention...

Ali Conway, determined and dedicated as always was out on her LSR on Saturday, Jennifer Tanner was at home feeling under the weather and feeling disappointed to not be able to get out for her own LSR this weekend. She checked Strava to see how all the Fit for Life group were getting on with their training and noticed that Ali had stopped short of her planned mileage. Knowing this was very unlike Ali (and because Jen worries about us all!) she phoned Ali, only to discover that Ali had become injured and was stranded waiting to be collected. Jen jumped straight into her car and was over to rescue Ali. Thankfully Ali is on the mend and is massively grateful to her Superhero Jen for coming to rescue her!

Stories like this remind us all of the power of community, how lucky are we to have the support of each other.

Donabate Parkrun

Another great turnout from LSA at the Donabate Parkrun. This week we had 10 runners! Full results can be found here! Well done all. Parkrun cannot operate without volunteers so a huge thanks to club members Andrew Forde, Cathal Brady & Leslie Brooks for volunteering this week. Thanks, Leslie for the photos.

A Huge Thankyou

Message from Dara Carr

Very big thanks for the kind donation of a storage shed by Portrane hockey Club. A big thanks to Anita Patterson and Adrian Henchey for organising. Shout out to Taz Hussein, Xavi Hubert, Joe & Kevin Carr & Adrian Henchey who helped move it to its new location. No easy feat but they managed it skilfully. It’s going to be so handy for storing our Thursday equipment at our training location. Well done folks and thank you.
