What a weekend of both juvenile and adult Track and Field - Eimear Caulfield wins gold

Gold in the W35 1500m in the Leinster Championships for Eimear Caulfield in Carlow on Saturday in an impressive time of 5.29.63. What a start to Championship running for Eimear. Bring on the Nationals!

MARY PETERS 50th GOLD MEDAL ANNIVERSARY AND 2nd for Anna Gavigan in the discus

Also on Saturday Anna Gavigan comes 2nd in the Discus at the Mary Peters 50th Anniversary Belfast International Day.

LEINSTER CHAMPSIONSHIPS 2022 IN CARLOW

At the Leinster Championships on Sunday in Carlow Anna broke the Championship Record with a throw of 43.26., It was a huge medal haul with Anna winning gold, Xavier Hubert (Coach) winning gold in the high jump in the M40 category with a jump of 1.7m. And Enda Gavigan (Coach) with a bronze in the M55 in the 200m with a time of 27.69. Well done all. If you would like to give track and field a go, contact Dara on 0876599847

JUVENILE DUBLIN CHAMPIONSHIPS - DAY 1

Meanwhile at Day 1 of the Dublin Championships our juvenile athletes competed in the high jump, javelin, long jump and shot putt. Well done Eliza, Léa, Jacob, Issac and Cara.

DAA AIRPORT CENTRAL 2022

DAA Airport Central 5k 2022 at ALSAA last Thursday evening. It was a dry, sunny but very windy evening but our athletes Mark Kelly, Helen Roche and Amanda McAra won the 1st team prize. Great run and well done to Ian Tiernan too. Click here to find results.

PARENTS PLEASE NOTE CLOSING DATE Friday 3rd June 8pm. If your child/teenager would like to take part please discuss with their coach in advance. As a club we must provide officials if we have athletes competing. You can submit the entry yourself through https://entry.athleticsireland.ie/588

or the LSA Juvenile Competition Secretary (Louise) can enter the athlete provided entry fee is paid in advance.

Please see programmes for times, but note that the schedule can change on the day or prior to the competition. Closing dates for Days 5 & 6 (Relays) is Wednesday 8th June. More details on that to follow.

DONABATE PORTRANE SPECIAL OLYMPICS CLUB FIRST TRACK AND FIELD COMPETTION AND MEDALS ALROUND

A big well done to LSA coaches Dara & Maria Carr & Ali Conway who supported Donabate Portrane's Special Olympics club athletes in their very first Track & Field competition over the weekend. A big congrats Becca and Tim and hopefully this will be the first of many competitions ahead.
