JUVENILE NEWS

NIA Track & Field Live - 24th November

Very well done to our Juvenile athletes who competed in the NIA Track & Field Live on Thursday 14th November. For most of our athletes this was the first taste of any competition! For others it was their first time taking on the sprint events and Indoor competition,

Very well done to Michelle Branigan who helped prepare our U12 athletes before taking on her own 800m race and finishing fourth.


Cross Country League 3

The final race in the Dublin Juvenile Cross Country League takes place in Tymon Park, South County Dublin, on Sunday 11th December. If your child or teenager is interested in taking part please RSVP on the event on the JUVENILE chat on ClubZap.

Entry fee is €3 per athlete, payable to our coach on the day.

This is for athletes born in 2015 and older - you would need to be at the start area in Tymon Park at 10am for the first race starting at 11am.

Please talk to your coach on Thursday for more info.


Important Reminder - Cross Country Training

Our last Juvenile Saturday training session will take place on December 3rd. No training on 10th December as we have the League race in Tymon Park on Sunday 11th November


Track and Field Live NIA 14th December 2022

Another taster of indoor competition for adults (senior and master) and juveniles born in 2012 and older.

This is competition no 673 on entry.athleticsireland.ie.

Entries close at 0900 on Friday 9th December or when the entry limit has been reached, whichever is first.

There’s a wide range of events: 60m, 400m, 800m, 1 mile, High Jump and Pole Vault for all ages from 2012 to Senior and Master. More information can be found HERE.

If you or your child are interested in entering these events, you can set up your own account (and for your child) and create your own entry for many events. Please contact Louise 0868327467 if you need more info.


ADULT SECTION

Clonliffe 2 Mile Road Race

Yvonne Sweeney was in action on Sunday 27th November in the Clonliffe 2 mile and l produced a stellar performance running 12.29. Well Done Yvonne!

Clontarf 5 Mile & Half Marathon

Huge congratulations to all the huge LSA crew who completed the Clontarf 5 mile & half marathon in horrendous weather conditions on Sunday. A special mention to the fit for life crew who completed Couch 2 5K in the summer and trained so hard to complete their very first half marathon (rumour has it is their first of many!!). Shout out to Pat McCormack who was the first LSA member to cross the finish line, closely followed by Willie Cahill. The weather didn't dampen spirits and a massive thanks to all those who came out to support and to Micheal O'Dea for all the amazing photos to capture the day.


Marathon Number 4...since August!!

Huge congrats to the truly inspiring Suzanne Dunne who this week completed her 4th Marathon since August!!! Suzanne is completing 5 marathons in 5 months in aid of The Down Syndrome Centre in Swords. Well Done Suzanne...just one more to go to complete this epic challenge!
