JUVENILE SECTION

Summer Camp

This week we held our LSA Summer Camp 2022. 132 children participated over three fun filled days at Ballymastone. They enjoyed events such as sprints, hurdles, high jump, long jump, shot putt, javelin & discus. We also had a games station and a chill out yoga station.

I think we can safely claim that it was a massive success from all the positive comments and feedback. This was down to the huge team of coaches and volunteers who gave their time so enthusiastically to make it a great experience for all. Many thanks to the 2022 LSA Summer Camp Team and especially our Youth helpers who were a huge hit with the kids. Thanks to Kelly Anne of Mind to Motion and Gavin Halpin of GH Fitness who ran a strength and conditioning zone. This was a new addition this year. Thanks to Diesel Ireland for sponsoring our SC tees. We would be unable to host our camp without the use of the beautiful grounds at St.Pats GAA, Ballymastone. A big thanks to St. Pats GAA and especially to grounds keeper Mick Dignam who was kind enough to mark out a Sprints track for us.

We look forward already to hosting next years camp and hope to have an even bigger intake next year.

The LSA committee would like to sincerely thank all of our volunteers for making this year such a success.

Tallaght Athletic Club 5k

Well done Mark Kelly who was 5th U16 boy in the Tallaght AC 5k in a superb time of 20:38!

Rush Junior Parkrun

Well done to all our junior members who completed Rush Junior Parkrun today. We received a warm welcome and enjoyed the hilly 2k course in the sunshine.

Congrats to Ryan McGeehan who was first LSA Junior to cross the finishline in 09:40!

Dublin Cross Country League 2022

Dublin Cross Country League 2022 dates have been announced for Sunday mornings but venues still to be confirmed. These will be for athletes born 2013 and older (U9 upwards). We will post more details when we have them, along with info on LSA return to training!

AAI Games Tullamore

After inspiring all the children at Summer Camp this week, the unstoppable Anna Gavigan has won another Gold Medal. In very windy conditions today in Tullamore, Anna secured a Gold in Women's Discus with a best throw of 45.22m! Congratulations Anna.

ADULT SECTION

Dublin Graded Meeting 7

Huge congratulations to Dara and Enda who competed in the Dublin Graded Meeting 7 on Wednesday evening at Tallaght Athletic Stadium!

Bettystown 5 Mile

LSA was well represented at the Bettystown 5 mile on Tuesday 19th July hosted by East Meath Club, Cilles AC. Well done guys!

Donabate Parkrun

As always LSA was well represented at this weeks Donabate parkrun. We had 7 runners participating with Pat McCormack first LSA member across the finishline in 23:59. Shoutout to junior member James Rhein who completed both the Donabate Parkrun and the Rush Jnior parkrun this weekend! Thanks to our club members Ciara Cullen, Edel Lyons and Ian Tiernan who all volunteered this week. this weeks results can be found here

Malahide Summer Park 10k

There was a fantastic LSA turn out for this morning's Sunny Malahide Castle 10k run as part of the Summer Parks Series. There is a rumour that some of the participants even warmed up in the playground!!! Well done everyone!!
