COMPETITION 2016

The club will be closed during mid-term breaks and all school holidays.  You will be notified in advance of any workshops organised throughout the year by the club.

PLEASE NOTE – Competition 2016 – You will be notified in advance which leagues and Championships that we will be attending.

Dublin Juvenile U10 – U16 T&F Summer Leagues 2015

League 1 Saturday 16th April                       Irishtown Stadium 10.30am

League 2 Saturday 30th April                      Morton Stadium Santry 10.30am

League 3 Sunday 8th May                            Tallaght 10.30am

League 4 Saturday 21st May                         Morton Stadium Santry 10.30am

  Information on Leagues

  • Only athletes aged U10 – U16 are eligible to compete
  • An athlete may not step up an age in any event (except U9 born 2008 can step up to U10)
  • Registration/Entry on the day of competition – Athletes will be issued with a label/number for the respective age group on payment of €3. One official from each club should pay for and collect the labels/numbers on the day of competition.
  • All competing clubs must nominate in advance 2 officials to assist on the day of competition
  • Athletes may compete in all events listed in their respective age group
  • Points will be awarded to the top six in each event as follows,

1st        7 points

2nd        5 points

3rd        4 points

4th        3 points

5th        2 points

6th        1 point

  • The top six athletes in each age group with the highest points total accumulated from the 4 league competitions will be awarded trophies.
  • All Track events will be decided on times – There will be no heats/quarter or semi-finals
  • Field events – 3 throws, jumps per athlete
  • All competing athletes should be currently registered with the AAI for 2016. Checks may be conducted and any athlete not currently registered will be disqualified. Clubs must adhere to this condition, as non registered athletes are not insured.
  • In the event of contests clashing, officials will show flexibility, ie if a competitor is involved in long jump contest and a track event/other field event is called, he/she will be facilitated to participate in both, but must inform the official(s).
  •  Parents and supporters are not permitted on the track or infield areas.
  • Please cooperate with, abide by and respect the decisions of the voluntary officials and organisers of the competitions.
  • All should help keep the facilities we use clear of rubbish. Please use rubbish bins where they are provided or bring your rubbish with you when leaving!

National Juvenile Championships – All Tullamore

Age categories calculated from 1st January in the year of competition.

No athlete may obtain a birthday in the year of competition and compete in that age.

U 9  Born 2008  – The only competition available to this age group is the Dublin Team Championships on 28th May 2016.  Their coach will determine which event is suitable for our athletes to do and whether the athletes are ready for competition.   It is a team event of two athletes with a combined score to count.

U 10  Born 2007  – Can take part in the 4 leagues in events such as Long jump, 60m, 500m and Turbo Javelin.  They can also take part in the Dublin Team Championships on 28th May 2016. Their coach will determine which event is suitable for our athletes to do and whether the athletes are ready for competition.   It Is a team event of two athletes with a combined score to count.

U 11  Born 2006  – Can take part in the 4 leagues in events such as Long jump, 60m and 500m and Turbo Javelin.  They can also take part in the Dublin Team Championships on 28th May 2015. Their coach will determine which event is suitable for our athletes to do and whether the athletes are ready for competition.    It Is a team event of two athletes with a combined score to count.

U 12  Born 2005  – Athletes in this age group no longer have the Team Championships They can take part in the 4 leagues and the Individual Dublin Championships in June 2015.  Events for this group are as follows:  Turbo javelin, Shot Putt, 80m, 600m and Long jump.

U 13  Born 2004  – Athletes in this age group have the 4 leagues and the Dublin Individual Dublin Championships in June 2015.  Events for this group are as follows:  Javelin, Shot Putt, 80m, 600m, Long jump and Hurdles.

U 14  Born 2003  – Athletes in this age group have the 4 leagues and the Dublin Individual Dublin Championships in June 2015.  Events for this group are as follows:  Javelin, Shot Putt, 100m, 800m, Long jump and Hurdles.

U 15  Born 2002  – Athletes in this age group have the 4 leagues and the Dublin Individual Dublin Championships in June 2015.  Events for this group are as follows:  Javelin, Shot Putt, 100m, 800m/1500m, Long jump and Hurdles.

U16  Born 2001  – Athletes in this age group have the 4 leagues and the Dublin Individual Dublin Championships in June 2015.  Events for this group are as follows:  Javelin, Shot Putt, 100m, 800/1500m, Long jump and Hurdles.

U 17  Born 2000  Athletes in this age group have the 4 leagues and the Dublin Individual Dublin Championships in June 2015.  Events for this group are as follows:  Javelin, Shot Putt, 100m, 800/1500m, Long jump and Hurdles.
