A note from the Vice Chair & Adult Running Coordinator, Jennifer Tanner
While we couldn’t be there in body to support our neighbouring club. We were definitely there in spirit minus the ice cream at the Virtual Portmarnock Road to Beach race this year. As the week progressed the excitement rose as more of our athletes took part, 21 in total. Some topped tables and some completed their longest distance in an official race. Others did it for the enjoyment and not for a PB!
As we now open up to running in pods, I’d like to thank our amazing coaches for keeping up the training momentum during lockdown and you can really see the results now with our athletes coming out stronger and faster than they went in.
Congratulations to everyone who took part and for some on their new PB’s whether it was time or distance. We had a first and second overall in the mens category and a third in a very competitive female category. Onwards and upwards and looking forward to our own 10th ANNIVERSARY RACE from JULY 12th to 18th. You can sign up for our race very soon with My Run Results, https://www.myrunresults.com/ and search for virtual events.
Congrats to the following athletes who took part in the Portmarnock 5k and 5 mile
